Wismar is preparing for a festive event: this year's star forest at the old harbor. In the past few days, Mike Hasemann and Rob Hempel and their committed team have intensified the preparations. The Advent season may still appear far away for many, but they are already immersed in the planning. This event has developed into a popular tradition in recent years that makes the city shine in winter shine.

Mike Hasemann, operator of "Media Consult Event Management", brings his experience from Lübeck, where he has organized similar events. Together with Rob Hempel, who is considered a local organizational talent, he brought the idea of the Sternenwald to Wismar in 2021. This concept has proven itself since then and enjoys growing popularity.

The official opening of the Starwald is planned for November 25th. From 11 a.m. the market will open its doors and attract numerous visitors by January 5. The facility is designed to inspire guests with a uniform design of huts that will offer culinary delicacies such as mulled wine, soups, fish and sausages. Rob Hempel emphasizes that the structure begins from November 18: "90 cubic meters of wood chips are approached".

A special feature of the star forest is the pleasant feeling of forest that is reached by the over 150 illuminated Nordmann firs and the minced schnitzel. These not only offer visitors a warmer surface, but also a unique atmosphere. "The event should offer relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas markets in the city center," says Hempel.

In addition, a large star hut that protects the guests from the weather will be available. On the outside, lovingly illuminated foresterlations with small open gas fireplaces invite you to linger and relax. This year there is another covered lounge that increases the comfort of the visitors. The organizers emphasize that the huts can also be reserved online for company Christmas celebrations: "We are proud to offer a wide range of options this year that are suitable for all age groups".

After the market, the wood chips do not require any disposal. Instead, they are given away: "It has worked very well in recent years. People use them to protect their plants in the garden or as a litter for their horses," adds Hempel. The star forest not only offers festive moments, but also shows an engagement for sustainability.

The first Christmas concerts and various actions, such as singing together on December 21, are also part of the program and will also help to raise the festive mood. "We all invite you to become part of this unique experience," says Hempel.

The Wismarer Sternenwald will also take place again in 2024.
