Wismar is investing 3.7 million euros: New life for PSV sports field!
A new age is based on PSV Wismar! The first construction phases of the "New PSV Stadium" were ceremoniously handed over and the project promises a huge transformation. With an impressive budget of around 3.7 million euros, everything will be redesigned here - from the freshly renovated athlete home to a brand new artificial turf and a revised career. The first steps were launched with the groundbreaking ceremony in the summer, and by the end of 2025 the entire system should shine in new splendor!
Financing is a community work: the federal government contributes around 1.7 million euros, while the Hanseatic city of Wismar generously supports 1.9 million euros. The association itself has also made a contribution with over 100,000 euros. On this special Wednesday, numerous prominent guests, including the country's sports minister, Stefanie Drese, and Wismar's Mayor Thomas Beyer and President of the Citizenship Sylvia Bartsch gathered to celebrate the handover of the first two construction phases.
large investments in the future
The city of Wismar is ambitious and invests a total of around 40 million euros in sports facilities. This large project not only includes the PSV sports field, but also the renovation of the multi-purpose hall and the construction of a new sports hall at the Friedenshof. In addition, comprehensive renovation and new construction work is planned in the Kurt Bürger Stadium. Wismar thus sets a strong sign of promoting sport and improving the infrastructure in the region!
