After a year of waiting and anticipation, the way for the famous chicken burger and crispy wings is now free! But reality looks different! The opening, which was planned for 2023, seems to have moved far away. KFC had secured a plot of land on the Greifswald Chaussee in 2022, right next to McDonald’s and Burger King. The fast food mile should be a land of milk and honey for lovers of fried delicacies. KFC only responds to multiple inquiries with vague answers. "We ask for your understanding that we are currently unable to provide any information on planned restaurant openings," said the PR agency. While another KFC is being built in the new shopping center in Wismar, the question remains when the Stralsunder will finally enjoy the popular fast food kitchen.

The choice of Stralsund and Wismar as a locations could be related to the high number of tourists in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Usually KFC only opens up in cities with over 100,000 inhabitants, but tourists could break these rule. Whether the new restaurants will also offer a delivery service remains a mystery. The Stralsunder still have to be patient while the anticipation for the crispy chicken pieces continues to grow!
