Altentreptow celebrates the topping -out ceremony: New sports hall for 650 students!

In Altentreptow is celebrated! The topping-out ceremony for the new two-field sports hall on the school campus recently provided great pleasure. This modern hall will replace the old, dilapidated gymnasium and is a real ray of hope for the 650 students and the members of the local clubs. If the weather is part of it, the athletes can use the new premises in March.

Construction projects in full swing

Mayor Claudia Ellgoth (independent) welcomed the guests with the words: "Welcome to the city's largest construction site!" In addition to the sports hall, a new medical center and a rescue station for around 4.25 million euros will also be built. The mayor emphasized that the city can be proud of these developments in the current time, even if the construction costs explode.

originally estimated to be 3.7 million euros, the costs have now increased to 5.4 million euros. Thanks to funding from the federal government and an additional grant of 700,000 euros from the state, the city can cover part of the costs. The new sports hall will not only offer space for sports, but also a mobile grandstand for competitions that was decided despite the additional costs.

Future-oriented plans

Thorsten Haker, managing director of the architecture and engineering office, was optimistic about the construction progress. The roof should be ready by Christmas, which would enable interior design in March. The new hall will be built in less than a year, which is considered a remarkable performance.

But that's just the beginning! The city plans to replace the old T12 building from GDR times with a new building. The mayor is convinced that an attractive school location not only attracts students, but also brings back former graduates to act as teachers. Altentreptow is on the best way to become a center for education and sport!
