SV Warnemünde celebrates third titles at the gripping city championship!

On January 4, 2025, the 12th Rostock city championship in indoor football took place in Arena Tchaikovskistrasse. The event was sold out and attracted numerous football fans. SV Warnemünde secured the title and thus his third victory in this championship history by defeating FC Förderkader René Schneider 3-0 in the final. The SV Hafen took third place, followed by HSG Warnemünde, the Rostock FC, PSV, FSV Nordost and FC United.

The city championship has been accepting for several years due to the increasing interest of also allowing foreign clubs. As part of the tournament, income of around 10,000 euros was generated that are donated to nine non -profit associations and institutions. Another highlight was the Rostock city beach championship, which took place before the turn of the year, at which the Güstrower SC, the first participating team that SV Pastow defeated in the final.

As nordkurier.de reported in the preliminary round group A of FSV Nordost Rostock (state class) and the Rostock FC (Oberliga) with 13 points through. In the preliminary round group B, PSV Rostock (11 points) and FC Rostock United (9 points) qualified, while HSG Warnemünde landed in third place with 8 points.

The HSG Warnemünde won the last final ticket with a 2-0 win in the playoff against the Rostock BSG. The defending champion this year was FC Förder squad René Schneider, who won the championship against SV Warnemünde last year.
