Dentist in Grevesmühlen publishes poetry about emotions
in Grevesmühlen, a charming city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a local dentist, Thomas Klemp, has opened a new chapter in his life. With his wife Ines Moll-Klemp, which is also creative, he not only runs a dental practice, but is also passionate about the region's art and literature scene. Thomas Klemp, who has developed his skills in sculpture and photography, has now published his first book that is devoted to the writing of poems.
his work, "of the courage to be myself" and subtitles with "thoughts in verses", reflects his long journey in dealing with language and writing. The dentist, born in Bad Freienwalde in 1965, reveals his personal view of language in his poems: "Language can create, consequently change, language has power ... it creates emotions and creates bonds," explains Klemp.
The personal connection to the literature
The love of language has accompanied Klemp since childhood when he wrote his first poem at the age of seven. Nevertheless, it took decades to take the step to present his works to the public. "Here I was able to form my sensations, emotional harmonies, but also storms into verbal pictures," he says. In this creative expressiveness, Klemp not only finds a form of therapy for himself, but also a way to process its inner conflicts.
Another motivation for the publication of his book was a special project that deepened the relationship with his son. In a section of the book, he reflects the dynamics between mentor and student and how this process brought him closer to him and his son. "According to his mentor, the student becomes an equal partner," Klemp describes the transformation in her relationship.
His contribution to the literary landscape is enriched by the variety of literature that inspires him. Plato, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche are among his favorites, while he also has great interest in modern sociopolitical literature. "Gustav Schwabs Odyssey and Ilias are my favorite books," he emphasizes.
But that's not all: Klemp is already planning to publish another book entitled "Stories of the Landei - Inner Monologue". This new work will include short stories that emerge from established everyday situations and capture the small but significant experiences of life. "There have already been 50 stories that have become a weekly ritual with their readers," he says proudly.
To overcome writing blocks, Klemp found that depressing is the key. Practices such as yoga, meditation and gardening help him to find a healthy separation between work and private life. "It is important to break away regularly from everyday life," says Klemp and refers to the importance of natural trips with his wife.
With his first publication, Thomas Klemp dared to take a significant step not only to show his literary skills, but also to send an invitation to others: the power of language can be transformative and strengthen the bonds between people. Visiting his dental practice could soon be not only associated with teeth, but also with inspiring literature.
