Vinyl revival in Wismar: The record luser inspires young and old!

in Wismar, where the records have never really disappeared, the "record luser" is enthroned - a true paradise for music lovers! Ulf Knolle, the 57-year-old operator, has gathered more than 6000 records in his small shop. From the Beatles to Pink Floyd to Karat and the Rolling Stones - everyone can find their musical salvation here. Despite the constant discussion about the fate of the vinyl records, which are once declared dead and sometimes revived, tuber remains unshakable: "The record was basically never gone!"

a place of vinyl passion

The "record lauser" is not just a business, but a meeting point for like -minded people. Knolle only opens his shop on Wednesdays and Sundays, and only in the evenings. "Underground opening times", he calls this, while the tax office speaks of "hobby". But for tuber it is more than just a job - it's a matter close to the heart. He created this place in 2010 to offer vinyl friends a place to meet and chat.

In the cozy corner with armchairs and sofa, music fans can indulge in a cup of tea. Knolle tells of his adventures in the GDR when he traveled to Hungary to get western sound plates, and the high prices he paid at Poland markets. "It was a crazy time," he enthuses. Today his range is a treasure chest: rock, pop, jazz and even rarities from the GDR. The records are sorted by interpreter and genres, and even young people are enthusiastic about the shelves.

curiosity and pass on knowledge

"I don't hear everything, I might know half of the records here in the shop," admits Knolle. But his curiosity drives him to discover new things again and again. He even shares his knowledge with the next generation: at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, he gave lectures on the history of the records for children. "Seeing the children interested and enthusiastic eyes was a fascinating experience!"
