Schwerin, Deutschland - On January 5, 2025, the 13th benefit tournament took place in Northwest Mecklenburg in favor of the association to promote the children of the Schwerin children's clinic and the Mecklenburg children's center. The event was very popular and already brought together a donation of 85,000 euros from the twelve previous tournaments.

An impressive highlight of the event was the award ceremony, in which numerous high donation sums were handed over by the participating football teams. Entrepreneurs Chris Paulsen presented 750 euros that were collected in a darts tournament. The team "Die Seuche" also handed over 750 euros that were collected over the past year, while the team "Kieskuhle 24" has contributed a total of 2,600 euros in the past two years, including 2,500 euros in the previous year.

Dietbert Krackow, co-organizer of the event, reported a five-digit sum in the donation account before the tournament and expressed the hope of crossing the 100,000 euro border in the course of the year. In the sporting part of the tournament, Martina Scheller was recognized by the NDR as the best goalkeeper. The rider's team ultimately emerged as the winner by winning the final against "the plague". Michael Liesberg of the riders was honored as the best scorer.

The participation of ex-Hansa Rostock kicker Marcel Ziemer and Marcel von Walsleben-Schied, both of whom, both in favor of Liesberg, was particularly remarkable. Walsleben-Schied praised the tournament as a great thing and was pleased with the joint participation.

In another part of Schwerin, a benefit tournament was also held. The SSC Palmberg Schwerin and the Schwerin hospice foundation organized such a tournament in the Palmberg Arena for the 9th time, which was very interested after a two -year corona -related break. A total of 12 mixed teams took part and each donated EUR 200 as a starting fee to the hospice foundation, which supports the hospice movement and the palliative care in Schwerin.

The official opening of the tournament was made by foundation chairman Karsten Arndt. The participating teams played in two groups of six teams each. Team Karlshagen was one of the favorites and dominated the group phase until it finally won the final around 2:30 p.m. When the challenge cup was handed over, the Bundesliga and internationals Pia Kästner and Lina Alsmeier were present, which underlined the meaning of the event.
