Schreck moment in Northwest Mecklenburg! On Monday, December 9th, there was a dramatic traffic accident on federal road 208 between Mühlen Eichsen and Lehmhusen. There, a truck collided head -on with a van, which led to a complete closure of the street. Tragically, two occupants of the van were seriously injured in this collision and trapped in their vehicle. The truck driver, on the other hand, was spared with minor injuries and a shock, such as the Nordkurier reported.

To help the injured as quickly as possible, the fire brigades from Grevesmühlen, Rüting, Mühlen Eichsen, Dalberg-Wendelstorf and Gadebusch moved in, supported by emergency services and the police. Two rescue helicopters were requested to transport the seriously injured people. To clarify the exact cause of the accident, an expert from the DEKRA came on site, while the accident site was also secured by the emergency services. This violent collision shakes the region and throws a light on the worrying development in terms of traffic accidents in Northwest Mecklenburg.

But that was not the only serious accident that day! A terrifying incident also occurred in Rüting. At around 10:30 a.m., an 80-year-old driver bounced off the road with his Kia Picanto at the entrance to the town. The driver was seriously injured and had to be taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries by rescue helicopter, while his 79-year-old passenger was also seriously injured in the ambulance. Fortunately, neither the vehicle nor the occupants had collided with a street lamp or a caravan. Nevertheless, the damage of the accident has been estimated at around 10,000 euros.
