A sign against exclusion

Marcel Spittel from the alliance for cohesion emphasizes the importance of this demonstration: "This is the first city representative meeting after the rainbow flag decision. We want to show the city representatives that there are people who do not agree with this decision." The protesters require a clear commitment to the city council for diversity, cosmopolitanism and tolerance.

The waves hit up when the last session in October decided to take the rainbow flag off the Neubrandenburg train station. This decision not only caused excitement in the city, but also beyond the national borders. Several councilors and councilors from various factions, including SPD/Greens and CDUplus, are now committed to ensuring that the city council sets a sign of a diverse and tolerant city. There is already an application that calls on the city administration to develop measures to promote visibility and tolerance and to submit suggestions by May 21, 2025. In addition, any form of exclusion and discrimination against minorities is to be convicted.
