Bahn chaos in Pasewalk: Students fight with hours of travel!

The Elberskirch family from Pasewalk is destroyed! Jochen Elberskirch, who heads the nature park administration at the Stettiner Haff, sees red when it comes to the catastrophic conditions at Deutsche Bahn. His two children who visit the Albert Einstein-Gymnasium are dependent on the train to get to school in time. But the reality looks dark: instead of the usual 42 minutes for the way to school, you now have to plan up to two hours!

"If everything goes according to plan, the connection is great," says Jochen. But the plan has long been overboard! Due to construction work at the Neubrandenburg train station, the trains stand still. The railway promises a comprehensive modernization of the infrastructure, but the Elberskirch family suffers from the massive restrictions. In order to get to school on time, the children now have to drive off in Pasewalk at 5.41 a.m. and then have an hour of waiting in Neubrandenburg. "It just makes me angry! How should we switch to public transport?" Asks the frustrated father.

School path becomes a nightmare

The way back is not better: Instead of half an hour, the children now have to plan by bus and train for an hour and a half. And that's not all! The waiting times for the bus can continue to drive up the travel time. "The railway app even warned that they could possibly miss the connecting train. This is simply not acceptable!" Scolds Jochen Elberskirch.

Deutsche Bahn apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for understanding. "The construction work is urgently necessary," explains a spokesman. But this is not a consolation for the Elberskirchs. They have to come to terms with the chaotic conditions by mid -December while hope for the promised improvement in the infrastructure. The family has no choice but to get through with the help of relatives and friends until the railway can finally take up its usual operation again.
