The ARD continues its exciting crime thriller mini series "The Dead of Marnow" and brings fresh thrills directly from the winter Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In the second season entitled "Dark heart", the focus is once again on investigators Lona Mendt and Frank Elling. As you examine a mysterious murder case, she leads your search to a Bulgarian orphan girl, Sarah, who is in great danger.

In the first season, the main actors Petra Schmidt-Schaller and Sascha Geršak already demonstrated their acting talent and were awarded the German television award. They have honestly deserved this honor because they chased a serial killer in their predecessor in the idyllic but dangerous backdrop of the Mecklenburg Lake District.

The shooting for "dark heart-the dead of Marnow 2" took place in and around Schwerin from November 2023 to March 2024 and in the district. The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania supported the production through grants of 200,000 euros. In addition to the lake plate, there were also some scenes in Lower Saxony, where the investigators' vehicles can be seen with SN license plates, for example in Hanover.

The combination of local locations and captivating stories makes this series special. The regions that can be seen in the film convey the feeling of home and at the same time the cold and darkness that envelops the story.
