The Mecklenburg Lake District Lung Center, a strong network since January 2024, combined inpatient and outpatient actors. The main cooperation partners are the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer Clinic in Neubrandenburg and the Amsee lung specialist clinic in Waren, supported by the Mediclin Müritz-Klinikum in Waren and the Evangelical Lung Clinic Berlin.
The focus here is on all conservative forms of therapy for all lung diseases, especially for tumor diseases, while surgical interventions and radiation therapy treatments are carried out in the DBK in Neubrandenburg. In the future, the lung center is planning certification as a lung cancer center in accordance with the requirements of the German Cancer Society. Another goal is to set up a certified pulmonary emphysem center according to the standards of the German Society for Pneumology.
