Village competition: register now and shape the future!

The countdown is running! Municipalities in the Mecklenburg Lake District district now have the chance to apply for the coveted competition "Our village has a future" until December 31, 2024. This exciting extension of the registration deadline was decided by the Committee on Business, Construction and District Development of the District Day and ensures a breath of fresh air in the rural regions!

Competition with high expectations

The competition aims to promote and appreciate the civic engagement in the villages. Active village communities are the key to living cooperation and make a decisive contribution to improving the quality of life. They are not only committed to cohesion in their places, but also for important topics such as economic development, digitization and mobility.

In April 2025, a specialist commission will visit the registered communities and select the best among them. These winners have the opportunity to take part in the state competition and to secure a place in the spotlight!
