Investments of 14 million euros: This is how our road network improves!
Ludwigslust-Parchim, Deutschland - The district of Ludwigslust-Parchim significantly invests in the expansion and renovation of its streets. For 2024, a total of 42 million euros in the household were provided for 80 projects in the field of street and civil engineering. In this context, around 14 million euros were spent on almost ten kilometers of road renovation, such as reported.
The largest individual investment flows into the renovation of the district road between Kritzow and Gneven, which costs almost six million euros. Of these, 90 percent of the construction costs were financed by funding. The extensive construction work, which extended over a period of two years, included the renewal of a distance of a good three kilometers, with a bike path being created in parallel. The renovation of the bike paths in the district also cost half a million euros this year. In addition, around 650,000 euros were used for the maintenance of road surfaces on almost five kilometers.
Important role of the road construction carrier
The district of Ludwigslust-Parchim is also a road construction carrier for all district roads in the area and thus bears the responsibility for construction, entertainment and the improvement of the streets. This includes the obligation to keep the streets in a traffic -friendly state, which is considered a public interest. The road and civil engineering department is responsible for the tasks of the road construction company, such as Kreis Ludwigslust-Parchim Notes.
The use of the district roads is allowed for all vehicles approved, but the road building authority can temporarily limit the common use. Construction bans, restrictions and protective measures are regulated in accordance with the applicable laws. Furthermore, the planting of the road requires the consent of the construction load carrier in the interest of traffic safety or road design.
A special focus is on bridges and engineering structures that represent the most expensive components of a street. The increasing traffic load and wear of these buildings requires constant preservation, which is why regular surveillance and testing by the district road maintenance department are carried out.
