Future conference in Stralsund: Autism MV celebrates 15 years for more visibility!
An important event in Stralsund: The State Association of Autism MV celebrates its 15th anniversary with an impressive future conference in the town hall! Experts, those affected and interested people gather in order to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the neurological developmental disorder. Association chairwoman Rosita Mewis sums it up: "It is a form of being human. And that is something that you have to put a lot more aware of." These words underline urgency to make autism in society more visible.
The conference aims to raise awareness of autism and to promote the integration of those affected into social life. Mewis emphasizes that it is crucial that autistic people are not excluded. However, there is still a lot to do in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Historical reasons from the GDR period have led to the state behind other regions. Mewis points out that those affected often have to wait up to a year for a diagnostic date, which also makes the situation more difficult.
A call to change
The future conference is not only an anniversary, but also a call to change! Mewis demands more experts and resources to meet the needs of the autistic people. It is time for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and offers those affected the support they earn. The event is an important step in the right direction to increase the visibility and acceptance of autistic people in society.
