Greifswald/Stralsund. A shocking incident shakes a nursing home in Greifswald! After the tragic death of a sick woman, a carer is now charged with attempted manslaughter. The process that continues on Wednesday (November 6th) before the Stralsund district court could uncover the dark circumstances of their death. An expert opinion is intended to clarify whether the 32-year-old carer actually exacerbated the suffering of the woman.

The public prosecutor raises serious accusations against the caregiver: he is said to have taken the pillow away from the woman who suffers from shortness of breath and set the bed horizontally, which is said to have made her breathing more difficult. These terrifying actions meant that the woman died in the nursing home in mid -October 2022. The indictment not only accuses the caregiver, but also the deliberate acceleration of her dying!

Procedure changes to the jury

The caretaker was originally charged with the Greifswald district court for abuse. But the main hearing revealed shocking testimonies that put the situation in a dark light. Witnesses reported that the accused is said to have deliberately changed the lying position of the woman, which could have led to an accelerated mortality. Due to these serious allegations, the procedure was referred to the jury at the Stralsund district court.

The public prosecutor has applied for the report because it could be crucial for the possible penalty. The process started in October, but another date is still pending. All eyes are now aimed at next Wednesday if the court may announce a judgment.
