Nordic sound receives cultural promotion prize - a festival for Western Pomerania!
Ernst-Lohmeyer-Platz 3, 17489 Greifswald, Deutschland - A big triumph for the Greifswald festival "Nordic sound"! This year it will be awarded the coveted Cultural Promotion Award of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This festival, which has existed since 1991, is the largest cross -border festival in Germany, which celebrates the fascinating culture of Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea area. Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig praised the international importance of the festival and described it as a cultural figurehead for Western Pomerania.

The ceremonial award ceremony will take place on November 27, 2024 in the magnificent Schwerin Castle. The festival team is overjoyed by this honor. Festival manager Prof. Dr. Clemens Räthel said: "We are grateful, proud and happy about this award." This recognition is not only an appreciation of long -term commitment to understanding culture, but also confirmation for the Institute for Fenni and Scandinavi, as well as the University of Greifswald. The sponsorship award will give the team new impetus for the upcoming events.
In 2025, the "Nordic sound" will go into the 34th round under Icelandic patronage. On the gala evening, which is planned for May 9, 2025, numerous guests of honor from politics, society and diplomacy are expected. An event that you shouldn't miss!
