Greifswald's new Romantic Gallery: A look into the future!
Greifswald's new Romantic Gallery: A look into the future!
In Greifswald, the excitement is bubbling! The former Gemäldegalerie at the Pomeranian State Museum is converted into a spectacular "Gallery of Romanticism". A new entrance area that is designed as a chapel is already standing and promises a multimedia experience for visitors. Here the life and work of the famous painter Caspar David Friedrich is brought to life!
But that's just the beginning! The renovation work is in full swing, while electricians diligently lay data cables. Dry builders and painters are already in the starting blocks to bring the new ensemble to life. Kai Kornow, the museologist of the Pomeranian State Museum, is the man of the hour. He looks after the construction and regularly leads interested visitors across the construction site. "There is still a lot to do," he says, "but we are optimistic that the 'Gallery of Romanticism' can be opened in the coming year!"
a multimedia experience
The anticipation for the opening increases! The installation of the numerous media in the chapel and the gallery is a major challenge, but the vision is clear: a place that makes the romance and art of Caspar David Friedrich shine in a new light. The "Gallery of Romanticism" becomes not only a place of art, but also an experience space that stimulates the senses and takes visitors into the world of romance.
