Around November 11th, numerous events are celebrated in Mansfeld-Südharz. From lantern parades to devotions to festive gatherings - there is something for everyone!

in Berga, the Martinsfest begins on Friday at 5 p.m. in the "Thyran Patza". Pastor Mareike Blischke tells the children the exciting history of St. Martin before going through the town with colorful lanterns. In Stolberg, too, the parking lot will be celebrated on Friday at 6 p.m. at the parking lot at the former Pennymarkt, where the move from the Querfurt fanfare train is accompanied. Wippra also invites you to lantern hike, which starts at 6 p.m. and ends with a prayer in the St. Marien Church. There are not only stories about St. Martin, but also delicious Martinshörnchen! In Röblingen it starts at 5 p.m. from the Catholic Church, where Martin's history comes alive and a campfire ensures cosiness.

Martin celebrations in the region

On Saturday there is a celebration in Edersleben, where the "Dwarfenstübchen" daycare center offers a colorful program for the whole family. The celebrations in Uftrungen and Kelbra will follow on Sunday, which start at 5 p.m. A family service takes place in Martinsrieth at 6 p.m., followed by a lantern parade, while something very special is expected in the church in Roßla at 6 p.m. The Lutherstadt Eisleben starts on Monday at 4.30 p.m. with a child-friendly prayer in the St. Petri Church, followed by a colorful lantern parade to the market.

In Mansfeld, a large Martins parade will begin at the secondary school on Monday at 5 p.m., where the children move to the St. Georg church with their lanterns. Here you can find out more about the legend of St. Martin and can look forward to delicious Martinshörnchen. Thürungen celebrates Martin's Day a little later, on Wednesday, November 13, with a move through the village, which is accompanied by the volunteer fire brigade. The last Martins celebration takes place in Sittendorf on November 16, which begins with a celebration in the St. Laurentius Church.
