Thousands of celebrating flocks into the city, especially in the Kwartier Latang and on Zülpicher Straße. But be careful! Ordnungsamt director Ralf Mayer estimates that up to 60,000 people will populate the streets, but the authorities are on the hat!

compulsory schooling and high fines

The city of Cologne has set up clear rules: This Monday, all schools have to carry out mandatory events until noon. Robert Voigtsberger, the department of education, youth and sport, warns: If you do not adhere to the regulations, you have to expect up to 1000 euros! But what does it actually look like in schools? Some have set sports festivals or educational days, which questions the attendance obligation. Whether the students really stay at home and do tasks remains questionable!

A total of 83 secondary schools are available in Cologne, and many have their own regulations for this special day. While some schools require strict presence, others may be avoided. The regulatory office plans sample -like controls to ensure that the rules are observed. The anticipation for the carnival is accompanied by a shadow of the possible punishments!
