Including art in the town hall: emotions for hearing impaired people!

Düsseldorf, Deutschland - In the heart of Düsseldorf, a fascinating art project unfolds that touches the senses! The hiking exhibition "Article - heard with the eyes" can now be seen in the town hall and shows impressive works that have been created by hearing impaired people. Initiated by the Lions Club Düsseldorf and the talented artist Tina Reichel in cooperation with the hearing center of the University Hospital Düsseldorf, this exhibition offers a unique perspective on the world of colors and shapes.

The exhibition, which is open until December 20, 2024, invites visitors to experience art in a completely new way - through touch and emotions. Inclusion is very important here, because the works of art are the result of an inclusive process that gives people with hearing damage the opportunity to express their creativity and show what art means for them. Mayor Josef Hinkel opened the exhibition on November 18, 2024 together with Tina Reichel, Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Klenzner and Michael Schäfer, the President of the Lions Club Düsseldorf.

a highlight of the art campaign

A special highlight of the exhibition is the upcoming donation gala, in which the works of art are auctioned. The proceeds will flow into the project "Lions funding for hearing-impaired children" at the hearing center of the University Hospital Düsseldorf. This gala will take place in the spring of 2025 in the Düsseldorf City Museum and promises to become an unforgettable event that celebrates the connection between art and social responsibility.
