Wiesbaden strengthens partnership: Help for mothers in Ukraine!
The state capital Wiesbaden impressively shows its solidarity with the Ukrainian twin town of Kamjanez-Podilskyj by supporting an important healthcare project. In cooperation with Ukrainian actors, Wiesbaden has applied for and received funding of 45,000 euros from the "Service Center in the one world". These funds, together with a share of 5,000 euros, are used to increase the quality of medical care in the Perinatal Center of the City Hospital of Kamjanez-Podilskyj. "Solidarity means not only the provision of weapons, but also to ensure vital public tasks," said Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende when the release of the funds was announced, as was announced, as wiesbaden reported .
A decisive part of the project is the procurement of modern medical devices that have recently arrived in the district hospital of the twin city. These devices are essential for the diagnosis and treatment of mothers and newborns. Maral Koohestanian, the European Councilor, emphasized the importance of support for these particularly vulnerable groups: "Women and children are often the main suffering in conflict areas," said Koohestanian. With the installation of the new devices, a comprehensive improvement in medical services is expected.
The urgency of the help
The need for this support is reinforced by the continuing attacks on civil infrastructure in Ukraine, especially during an existential war. Wiesbaden is actively involved in counteracting these challenges and has decided to continue to assist in the future. It is once more clear how important international partnerships are in times of crisis in order to ensure medical care in conflict regions. Further information about the project can be found on the partner city's website, where the ongoing developments are documented, as reported .
