Wiesbaden, Deutschland - In Wiesbaden, a new winter service for cycle paths has been set up in order to better meet the needs of the increasingly cycling population. Like the landes capital Wiesbaden reported, a specialist company was commissioned to ensure the most important bicycle traffic connections in winter conditions. The curb paths, bicycle streets and cycle paths that are located next to parked cars are to be cleared by snow and ice. The time -defined winter service network comprises almost 75 kilometers and is carried out on working days from the beginning of November to the end of March.

The procedure for snow equipment is carried out by liquid scattering with an environmentally friendly salt solution, the so -called pure brine. This method not only protects the environment, but is also a bicycle -friendly. In addition, the ELW will be responsible for the in section elimination of the winter service, especially on the routes, which run in parallel to regular buses to ensure an interruption -free bus operation.

In the case of snowfall, property owners are obliged to clear the sidewalks in front of their houses. According to the regulations, at least one meter wide stripes must be cleared and scattered to ensure the safety of pedestrians. With smoothness, 1.50 meters wide stripes are required. The regulations aim to keep the endangerment of pedestrian traffic as low as possible and ensure that stops for public transport remain easily accessible.
