Wiesbaden reaches through: buses with cameras hunting false parkers!

Fee-false parkers! In Wiesbaden, the municipal transport company Eswe Verkehr opened the hunt for traffic offenders. Thanks to new technology, the buses in the city are now equipped with special front cameras that the drivers can use to photograph vehicles that illegally park on bus traces. A push of a button is sufficient to capture the car, the license plate as well as the exact time and location. These evidence photos are immediately forwarded to the responsible traffic authorities, which then immediately impose fines. A clear blow against parking!

In the first phase of the project, 14 out of around 300 buses in Wiesbaden have already been equipped with the new cameras, concentrated on the busy streets of the city center. Originally, this measure was supposed to start last year, but data protection concerns have delayed the rollout. However, now, after the Hessian data protection officer consent, the project can finally be fully implemented. Eswe Verkehr is optimistic and speaks of a crucial step to improve traffic in the Hessian capital.

new technology against traffic chaos

This initiative is not only a sign of more order, but also a clear signal against the ongoing problems caused by false parkers. The use of modern technology could bring a real relief for many road users, while the fines ensure that everyone becomes aware of where parking is allowed. Wiesbaden shows how the innovative use of technologies can enforce the traffic rules and thus have a positive effect on safety and mobility in the city in the long term!
