Open Mosque Day: Wiesbadener celebrate variety and dialogue!

On October 3, numerous mosque and units in Wiesbaden open their doors to celebrate a special occasion: the day of the open mosque. This is an opportunity for everyone to learn more about Muslim faith and life in the respective communities. This event has established itself in Germany since 1997 and falls on the day of German unity, which once again emphasizes the cultural connection and dialogue between different religions and nations.

The day is not only an important opportunity to better understand faith, but also to reduce prejudices and promote intercultural exchange. The Wiesbaden foreigners' advisory board is pleased with the implementation of this event and emphasizes that such a day is made possible by great voluntary work. Ibrahim Kizilgöz, the chairman of the foreigners' advisory board, emphasizes the importance of this exchange, which plays an important role in the city.

program and offers

The mosques have prepared an extensive program for visitors. This includes exciting tours of prayer rooms as well as informative lectures and personal discussions on religious, social and cultural issues. Some municipalities also offer culinary specialties that give visitors the opportunity to get to know the variety of Muslim cuisine. This coexistence underlines the values of diversity and dialogue in a pluralistic society.

Especially Mohammad Dawood, a member of the PAU list, emphasizes how important openness and mutual understanding are. He sees the day as an opportunity to appreciate and celebrate the diversity. The foreigners' advisory board therefore cordially invites all Wiesbadeners to participate in the activities and to get a deeper insight into the Muslim community.

open mosques and their contributions

The participating mosque communities are prominently the Afghan Islamic Cultural Association and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Wiesbaden. Other participating institutions are the Bildungs- und Kulturverein, IGMG Wiesbaden, the Islamic Cultural Association Kostheim and the Omar Ibn al-Khattab Mosque. These communities offer their offers in different time frames, often between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. to enable as many visitors as possible.

The event is an important step towards a better mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. The openness of the mosques on this day reduces barriers and promotes conversations about faith and traditions. This initiative encourages the citizens of Wiesbaden to get closer to each other and reduce prejudices.
