German exports jump at 131.9 billion euros - USA at the top!
The German exports show a positive development in August. With a full increase of 1.3 percent compared to the previous month, exports reached an impressive amount of 131.9 billion euros. These statistics come from the Federal Statistical Office, which made these figures from Wiesbaden.
The review of July, however, shows a different picture of imports. Goods were imported of 109.4 billion euros, which corresponds to a significant decline of 3.4 percent. This indicates that fewer goods from abroad came to Germany, while the demand for German products rose abroad.
A remarkable aspect of this exports is that more than half of the goods delivered went to other EU countries. This underlines the importance of the European market for the German economy. However, the main customer for the German products was the United States, which illustrates the strength of transatlantic trade relationships in this sector.
