Building bridges for equality: youth encounter in Wiesbaden
An exciting event in Wiesbaden! On Saturday, November 9th, Dr. Patricia Becher the participants of the German-Croatian youth encounter in the large ballroom of the town hall. This event crowned an exciting week in which girls and young women from Dubrovnik were guests in Wiesbaden under the motto "Building Bridges". After a first meeting in Dubrovnik during the Easter holidays 2024, this was the return that further deepened the exchange between cultures.
"At a time when the world often has a split, international encounters are invaluable," said Dr. Cup at the opening. The back encounter focused on the rights of girls and women and was organized by the youth center Georg-Buch-Haus, in cooperation with the Erasmus student Network Dubrovnik. "This youth encounter offered an excellent opportunity to enable the participants, to raise their voices and to work for equality and justice," she added. A strong network for a fairer future will be built here!
special awards and valuable experiences
As part of the celebration, the participants received the "EU Youth Pass", a certificate that documents their participation in the youth encounter. "This proof is not only evidence of your participation, but also a symbol of the valuable experiences you have gained," emphasized Dr. Mug. The event included impressive images of the excitement in Dubrovnik as well as moving statements by the Wiesbaden girls and a thank you address of the Croatian partner organization.
dr. Chanter expressed their thanks to everyone who was committed to implementing the encounter. "The people who invest a lot of time, energy and heart in this youth encounter are more important than money," she concluded. This initiative is part of the "Wiesbaden International" program, which is promoted by the EU Erasmus+ program and aims to offer disadvantaged young people. A step into a just future!
