Morning pint of the cold market: beer tapping and encounters in Ortenberg!
An exciting start at the cold market in Ortenberg! Mayor Markus Bäckel showed how to start with swing at the morning pint: With only two strong strokes, he drove the tap into the beer barrel and opened the popular festival. The mood in the crowded marquee was great, even if the music was loud as usual, people still attracted people. Finally a place where the Region can be easily exchanged!
The long list of guests of honor spoke volumes! In addition to members of the state parliament and neighboring municipalities, prominent faces from politics and business were also represented. District Administrator Jan Weckler and the first district deputy Birgit Weckler were just as present as former mayors who exchanged their own times. "As a Sparkassen-Mensch, of course, you have to welcome the banks," teased city councilor Dirk Vogel, who welcomed those present.
tradition and conviviality
The tradition of the morning pint was clearly noticeable: groups of celebrations, like the "women's fan curve", had lovingly decorated their tables and started the celebrations. Even the "Uushemer Kerbursche" and the "friends of the Uhls" did not allow themselves to be ragged and contributed to the exuberant atmosphere. The youth received a fresh wind with the newly founded club from Gelnhaar - they have been getting momentum into the local club landscape for a year! A cozy honorary table for the former city councilors rounded off the picture, even if one of them could not come due to illness.
At the end there was a little joke: "Did he do it better than last time?" Asked Vogel when the tension rose. But bakery, undeterred, put the tap into the barrel with a strong swing - the morning pint was now ceremoniously opened! People flocked together happily to live the tradition of this unique market. With a loud “cheers” it went into the celebrations and the cold market became the most lively place in the region.
