Before the citizens' decision, Mayor Wilfried Mogk had already announced that it would assess the future participation in the garden show, but the municipal board had to give in.

The crucial session on Monday evening brought the turn: the application for withdrawal was withdrawn! "Such a debate should not be imposed by the municipal board," said first deputy Jochen Degkwitz (CDU). While the municipal board was considered due to supposed financial problems, the majority of representatives made it clear that they continued to give the garden show a great chance. "The application was not mature!" Said the deputy CDU parliamentary group leader Sebastian Tinz. politically bitter arguments about the future park seem to be ticked off for the time being.

While the SPD supports fresh impulses from the feasibility study of the garden show, the city administration is already planning to advance numerous projects, such as the Auen information center on Bingenheimer Ried and a lookout tower on the Limes cycle path.

The managing director of the LGS-Society, Florian Herrmann, leaves no doubt that the legal imponderables of an exit would be enormous. Echzell remains ready, because the time is pushing and the stage is prepared - the garden show will be the star in 2027!
