Three heroines from Hesse stop abuse and save young people!
Altenstadt, Deutschland - In the Wetteraukreis, three brave women have stopped years of abuse on a 15-year-old! Her heroic commitment was awarded the coveted XY Prize on Monday evening, presented by Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) in the program "File number XY ... unresolved". This award recognizes the remarkable civil courage of women who did not look away when they discovered a girl in a threatening situation.
During a morning jogging trip in a forest in Altenstadt, Emma Hufnagel and her friend Maika Janat-Vennemann noticed a suspicious man who was traveling with a much younger girl. "It was just a strange picture," reported Hufnagel on ZDF. The two women did not hesitate and addressed the girl to find out what was going on. The 15-year-old revealed that she had met the 47-year-old man on the Internet. Immediately they called the police, which should turn out to be a life -saving decision.

When a third woman, Elvira Bunzel, also noticed the situation and asked the girl, the man reacted aggressively. But the police were quickly on hand and arrested the perpetrator. The investigation showed that the 47-year-old had misused and manipulated the girl for over two years. He also had contact with numerous other children and adolescents. Thanks to the courageous intervention of the three women, this terrible abuse could finally be ended.
"Do you have courage to get the girl out of the bushes in the forest. You could have apologized to the supposed dad. But it was not right! Our gut feeling said that," said Bunzel on ZDF. Her determination not only saved the life of a girl, but may also have saved many others from a similar fate.
