Wetteraukreis, Deutschland - The latest figures on unemployment in the Wetteraukreis are there and they are causing a sensation! In October 2024, the number of unemployment dropped by 150 people, and that is no coincidence! Unemployment is now 7,642 people - a decline of 1.9 percent. This positive change is typical for this month, because many students start their training and companies take new employees under contract after the summer break.

The unemployment rate in the Wetteraukreis also fell and is now 4.4 percent - this is significantly better than the average rate of 5.5 percent in Hesse. But stop! If you take a closer look, there was also less good news: the long -term unemployment has increased! In total there are now 2,218 people, which corresponds to an increase of 0.3 percent. Around 29 percent of all unemployed have been without a job for over a year!

Another interesting point: Unemployment has increased in direct comparison to last year! 439 people more than in October 2023 make an increase of 6.1 percent! Young people under 25 are particularly affected - their unemployment rate is 4.6 percent and exceeds the general quota. Even the group of over 55-year-olds has a higher rate at 4.5 percent. And now the shocker comes: People without German citizenship are fighting with a terrifying rate of 10.4 percent!

But what about the financial support? Over 50 percent of the unemployed in the Wetteraukreis, more precisely 4,584 people, receive citizens' money, which means that a decline of 112 recipients also shows up compared to the previous month. A total of 16,162 people receive this support in October! Most of it, 11,032, is actually able to work. But compared to the previous year we still have an increase in the citizens of 154 people!
