44 years of Zugmarschall: Klaus Schrempf inspires Gedern at the carnival!

Gedern, Deutschland - Klaus Schrempf, the tireless train marshal of the Gederner Carneval Club (GCC), celebrates an impressive anniversary: He has been steering the foolish moves for 44 years and is far from thinking about quitting! "I would never have thought that I would exercise this post for so long, but I still have a lot of fun today," explains the 69-year-old, who is full of energy and passion for his task.

his way to the train marshal began in 1978 when he was addressed by the GCC board. At that time he was an active footballer at FC Alemannia Gedern and already brought experience from the organization of moves. Schrempf quickly took responsibility and developed the move, which once started at the indoor pool, into a spectacular event that begins today in the Hercules parking lot. "The train has increased from a dozen numbers to almost four times," he reports proudly. The planning and organization of the moves are still a matter close to his heart that he masters together with his daughter Ina.

a family heritage and unforgettable experiences

The tradition of the GCC is deeply rooted in the Schrempf family. Klaus' father, Bernhard, was the first couple of princes and laid the foundation for the carnival activities in Gedern. Schrempf likes to remember the beginnings and the many hours he spent in the old gym to lead the rehearsals for the first men's ballet. "Sometimes there were tears, a lot of passion was invested, but the great joy and the successful appearances have compensated for the commitment," he says.

Even after retirement as a master mason, he remains active, is involved in the GCC and works as a lay judge at the local court. His love for football remains unbroken, and his experiences come into play even with large margins in Gedern.
