Stumpertenrod: A village full of community and tradition in Vogelsberg!

in Stumpertenrod, a charming village in the Vogelsberg district with over 300 inhabitants, pulsates! There is not only an observatory here, but also a village community center (DGH) that really deserves its name. Mayor Uwe Steueragel emphasizes how strong the community is: "Here the community works so well!" The village is known for its mill festival, which is organized with a lot of commitment by the residents - a real peculiarity!

Stumpertenrod is like a quiet island, far from hectic traffic. "We have no major traffic problems here," explains Steueragel. But mobility is important: "You need the car." The 58-year-old is a veteran of the village and has been involved in the local advisory board for over 25 years. He is proud of the generation change and the active participation of the villagers: "There are always people who help when we start a project." This positive attitude is also reflected in the collaboration with Mayor Leopold Bach, who has moved a lot for the community.

a DGH with history

The village community center is a place full of memories and activities. There is a community freezer and even a defect that is operated by pensioners. "Half Feldatal comes and brings tablecloths and bed towels," says Tax nail. The DGH is used for celebrations, club meetings and even for the trombone choir. But there are plans for a renovation to make the entrance barrier -free and modernize the kitchen.

The village community is alive, even if the youth group has suffered something in recent years. But the future looks promising: "There are many children in the village, over 20 under ten years!" Says Tax nail. And the wind turbines that surround the village? "People have come to terms with it," he says, because they bring financial support for the community. Stumpertenrod is not only a place with special features, but also a lively example of community and commitment.
