A spectacular show of the winning villages took place in the Vogelsberg district! Storndorf triumphed at the 38th regional decision by "Our village has a future" and secured first place with a price of 5,000 euros. The villages of Metzlos, Schenklengsfeld-Landershausen, Crainfeld and Freiensteinau were also awarded for their outstanding achievements. The competition celebrates the commitment of the village communities for sustainable development in rural areas.

Overall, eleven villages presented themselves over five days and showed what makes rural areas so special: volunteering, cohesion and enthusiasm for country life. District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak praised the participants during the award ceremony in the village community center in Storndorf and emphasized how important the ideas and the commitment of the villages are for the future. "They all won because the commitment and the valuable impulses pay off," says Mischak.

The prices for the other winning villages are also impressive: Metzlos receives 4,000 euros, Schenklengsfeld-Landershausen 3,000 euros, Crainfeld 2,000 euros and Freiensteinau 1,000 euros. But that's not all! Special prices were awarded in four categories, including 1,000 euros for Ludwigsau-Beenhausen for strengthening the village community and for Freiensteinau for the future-oriented coexistence of the clubs. These awards underline the extraordinary commitment of the villagers and their creative ideas.
