SHK training celebrates comeback in Alsfeld: Future prospects for trainees!

in Alsfeld is reason to be happy: The training profession of sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology (SHK) celebrates its comeback at the Max Eyth School (MES). Almost 20 trainees started the new SHK class this year, which indicates high demand. Patrick Krug, the first district deputy, emphasized during his visit to the school that not only practical training in companies is important, but also the short distance from the vocational school itself. This makes the dual training system particularly attractive.

At the on-site appointment, Matthias Röse, head of the Office for School Education, and Stefan Schmidt, who heads the office for building construction, energy and building industry, were also present. The headmaster Friedhelm Walther and Thomas Spohr, the responsible department head, received the representatives of the Vogelsberg district to speak about the retraction of the schooling in the SHK area.

planned investments for the future

The return of the SHK training is particularly important because it has not been offered over a decade. The vocational school is gradually equipped and is based on the curriculum. For the first school year, investments of almost 70,000 euros in learning aids, such as wall module fields, workbenches and other furniture, have already been made. Future investments of around 120,000 euros have already been planned to buy learning systems for heat pumps and smart home technologies as well as a burner test bench and a condensing thermal bath. This cooperation takes place, among other things, with the guild for plumber, sanitary and heating construction in the Vogelsberg district.

Patrick Krug also emphasizes the importance of these professions: "SHK professions are future professions, because well-trained specialists are sought-and the industry offers many perspectives in the long run." He points out that the continuing investments in vocational school locations are also reflected in the high demand for training positions. Thanks to these efforts, the specialists of tomorrow can now be trained on site - an effective measure for business development.

Krug finally thanks everyone involved who brought this educational offer back to the region after such a long time. This shows how important the cooperation between the district, chamber of crafts, guilds and training companies is in order to react to the needs of the labor market.
