An important step for the regional food crafts: From January 1, 2025, the bakery guild and the butcher guild in the Vogelsberg district merge into a common baker and butcher guild Vogelsbergkreis. This merger was decided in several days of meeting to take the structural changes into account in these professions and to secure a strong local representation, as the Fuldaer Zeitung reported. The chief master of the Fleischer guild, Wilhelm Becker, emphasized the rapidly changing operating structures in the baker and butcher trade and stated that the market conditions made a merger necessary to strengthen identity and cohesion in the region.

In the squad of these developments, the new board of directors will consist of well -known personalities of the guilds: Wilhelm Becker will act as senior master, supported by Birgit Günther as deputy senior master. Other assessors are Patrick Helm, Markus Lind, Karsten Hahn and Bernhard Wöll. District craftsman Edwin Giese confirmed the importance of this shoulder and points out that in recent years an increase in membership in the district craftsmen has been recorded, which is a positive signal for the industry. This was also supported by the Chamber of Crafts Vogelsberg , which has already officially approved the merger.
