New Müllensorger Prezero: Fresh wind in the Schwalm-Eder district!

From January 2025 there will be a change in waste disposal in the Schwalm-Eder district: The company Prezero Service Nordhessen will take over the garbage disposal after the previous service provider RMG Rohstoffmanagement GmbH has surprisingly terminated the contract. This step had become necessary because RMG had called for a drastic increase of 1.3 million euros per year due to a price increase conflict, which was not accepted by the Schwalm-Eder (ZVA) purpose association. District Administrator Winfried Becker emphasized that such an increase could not be implemented without a legal basis. The conflict escalated when RMG announced the existing contract, which was to run by 2027, without notice on December 31, 2024, as hna reported .

preparations for the change of service provider

The new tender led to the commissioning of Prezero, a subsidiary of the Schwarz Group, which also includes Lidl and Kaufland. Prezero will organize garbage disposal for around 65,000 households in the Schwalm-Eder district in the coming months. The employee Anna-Lena Schmahl will be one of the new faces who will take over the flight routes through the circle from January. Until then, extensive preparations have been underway: Prezero has built a new branch in Wabern and ensures that the necessary vehicles and employees are available in good time, such as NH24.

The removal days remain the same, but the pick -up times can change, which is why the citizens are asked to provide their garbage cans visibly from 6 a.m. Another important topic that Prezero appeals to is waste separation: batteries, batteries and electrical appliances must not end up in the regular tons because they represent potential fire hazards and endanger the safety of employees. Despite the challenge of an abrupt change of provider, Becker is confident that Prezero will successfully meet the requirements, while ZVA offers support and asks the citizens to understand possible initial delays.
