Offenbach's digital building applications: Revolution in the approval process!
Offenbach, Deutschland - In Offenbach, significant progress in building management was made: the first digital building permit was granted. This marks the beginning of a pilot project that is intended to revolutionize the application for construction projects. The ceremonial handover of the first approval has now taken place, and the city intends to start in real operation in April 2024, as the planning and building director Paul-Gerhard Weiß explains. In the future, building applications could be made conveniently online, which should replace the previous, often cumbersome procedures. The digital construction file is a central prerequisite for online applications, which required intensive preparatory work on the digitization of all files in construction supervision. According to engineer Stephanie Wellnitz, who took part in the test, the process is self -explanatory and resource -saving, which is particularly advantageous for the construction industry, such as the FAZ reported.
digital processes for the future
The digital building application procedure is made possible by working with the service provider EKOM21, a partner of the Hessian Ministry of Economic Affairs. This system is now being tested with real applications in order to outweight possible weaknesses and optimize the processes between different offices and applicants. The Offenbach construction supervision plans to complete the test phase after the summer and then make the procedure accessible to the public. This should not only shorten the processing times, but also to make internal processes in the building management much more efficiently, whereby all the authorities involved are included, as the city of Offenbach emphasizes in a current message published on the urban website Offenbach.de .
Digitization also facilitates access to construction files in the future. The start is to be started with already digitized documents, which are then made accessible via a cloud solution. This enables an uncomplicated overview of the approval procedures and documentation, which benefits not only the builders, but also to the planners and modernizes the entire machining landscape.
