New chairman of the Hessian Cultural Foundation: Prof. Dombret takes over!

A new star in the cultural sky in Hesse! Prof. Dr. Andreas Dombret was appointed the new chairman of the Hessian Cultural Foundation. Prime Minister Boris Rhein praised the decision and emphasized that Dombret stands for cosmopolitanism and promoting young talent. In his new role, he will decisively advance the cultural diversity and the exchange of knowledge in the region. "We wish him a lot of joy and success," said Rhein. A strong sign for the future of Hessian culture!

The outgoing chairman Jutta Ebeling, who has played a decisive role in cultural funding in the past five years, has also been recognized. Minister of Art and Culture Timon Gremmels emphasized how Ebeling coordinated around 9,000 scholarships for cultural workers during the Corona pandemic and thus provided quick help. Her term of office was characterized by significant projects that sharpened Hesse's cultural profile, including purchases and exhibitions, which ranged from the Keltenwelt am Glauberg to the Hessian State Museum of Darmstadt.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Dombret, born in the USA in 1960, has an impressive career. After completing his training as a bank clerk, he studied business administration and did his doctorate in 2005. From 2010 to 2018 he was a member of the Bundesbank's board and is now a sought -after consultant in the financial world. His commitment to art and culture is tireless: he is a member of the board of trustees of the Städel Museum and the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt and has remained loyal to the Hessian Cultural Foundation since 2016

The Hessian Cultural Foundation, active since 1988, supports museums, art associations and libraries in Hesse in preserving valuable cultural assets and making it open to the public. She also awards scholarships to artists who can collect new creative impulses in renowned cities such as New York and Paris. With Dombret at the top, the foundation will certainly reach new heights!
