Betziesdorf plans its own local heating cooperative: warmth for everyone!

Kirchhain-Betziesdorf. The residents of Betziesdorf are on the verge of a revolutionary change! A separate cooperative for sustainable heat supply is scheduled to start in November 2024. The local heating group has already taken the first steps to plan a local heating network for the approximately 700 inhabitants of the district. The anticipation is great, because over 140 households have expressed their interest in this environmentally friendly solution.

In a recent information event that attracted more than 100 interested parties, a concept study was presented, which was created by the renowned Viessmann company. The study shows various technical options for installing local heating in Betziesdorf. The preferred solution? A large air heat pump in combination with a gas-tip load boiler! The cost of this ambitious project could amount to around 9 million euros, with the prospect of funding of around 40 percent. That means: a big step towards environmentally friendly heat supply!

Stadt Kirchhain supports Project

The city of Kirchhain is firmly behind the Betziesdorfer project! Mayor Olaf Hausmann emphasizes the need for climate neutrality by 2045 and sees a key in local heat supply. "Every household has to invest to reach the climate goals," he explains. The city has already taken over the funding of the concept study and encourages citizens to participate in the cooperative. The goal: an inexpensive and sustainable heat supply that reduces the dependence on fossil fuels and drastically lowers CO2 emissions!

On November 29, the founding meeting of the local heating cooperative will take place in the village community center. Betziesdorf's mayor Dieter Tourte is optimistic: "We want to convince as many as possible so that it gets cheap for everyone!" In addition, advice dates are available in the multifunctional house on November 5 and 11 to clarify all open questions. Time is pushing and preparations are in full swing - the future of heat supply in Betziesdorf is on the brink!
