Action Day in Breidenstein: Offsers go to the fire brigade arena!
Biedenkopf-Breidenstein. Breidenstein recently organized an exciting "Action Day" for membership in the fire brigade. With 18 active youngsters, the offspring is well positioned, but military leader Martin Meißner sees the need to invest in the future. "We have to think of the future," he emphasized, pointing out that many of the currently active 26 fire brigade members will retire in the coming years. The struggle for new members is not just a question of growth, but also crucial for the operational readiness of unity.
In order to arouse the interest of the children and adolescents, the fire brigade had put an exciting program on its feet. These included mini pedal vehicles that the children could drive across the courtyard, or exciting competitions that let the young participants slip into the role of real firefighters.

Another highlight was the opportunity to take a seat in a real fire engine. The larger fire truck LF-10 of the Biedenkopf fire brigade particularly aroused passionate interest, as it is intended as a future replacement for the now 30-year-old fire engine. "The order has already been submitted," said Meißner, while the children were excited with excitement and felt like real firefighters.
The water features should of course not be missing on such a day. The fire brigade comrades had developed a new game concept in which two self -made fire engines drove around the bet on a water jet. Here the children were able to demonstrate their accuracy with the jet pipes by driving the vehicles.
The district's mobile fire protection mobile was also on site and offered information material prepared in a child -friendly manner. For example, the young visitors learned how to behave in the event of a fire and how important it is to install smoke detectors - a knowledge that was underpinned by an impressive demonstration of the smokehouse.
In a carefully designed replica of a house, the children were able to observe how quickly smoke and poisonous gases spread. Such experiences help the children to recognize the danger potential of fire and smoke at an early stage. In addition, the firefighters offered workshops in which creative key rings could be made from old fire brigade hoses who were even allowed to personalize the children with their names.
The evening ended in a sociable round, in which the adults had the opportunity to talk to the firefighters and to learn more about their important work. These types of events are not only entertaining, but also crucial for creating a strong community and the integration of new members. With the "Action Day", the fire brigade Breidenstein once again demonstrated how important it is to invest in the youth at an early stage and to bring them closer to the value of teamwork and cohesion.
