Nidderau: New linden tree creates habitat for insects and birds!

In Nidderau, a new tree was planted on the Kreisel Allee-Süd, which not only beautifies the cityscape, but also serves as a habitat for numerous insects. The city administration deliberately selected a summer lindle (Tilia Platyphylos) to create a counterpart to the waiting tree. This beautiful tree species not only offers shadows, but also an essential food source for local insects and animals, such as kinzig.news reported.

This tree planting is part of a larger initiative to make circular areas more insect -friendly in the city. The new planting was planned in close cooperation with the network Main.kinzig.Blüht. The goal is to promote domestic wild plants and to establish a diverse flora that offers insects food. Plants such as the meadow flake flower and the Kartäuser carnation are scheduled to enrich the roundabout with colorful flowers next year. According to Badische Zeitung this step will also have a positive impact on the urban climate and help to promote biodiversity in the region.

The existing vegetation was improved under the supervision of the voluntary flowering ambassador Bernhard Hildebrand, and unwanted pickling herbs were removed in order to create an ideal retreat for the local insects. The city of Nidderau thus sets a strong sign of environmental protection and preserving domestic ecosystems.
