New quarter for Hanau: City plans significant changes at the train station
Hanau. A huge area of around 30 hectares will be created in the next 15 years. Central station. This marks a crucial step for the city, because the “urban planning agreement” was signed yesterday in the Neustädter town hall. Mayor Claus Kaminsky is enthusiastic and thanks for the years of cooperation with Gerling, Holz & Co. Handels GmbH (GHC).
The radiant faces of the participants, including GHC managing director Jonathan Holz and City Councilor Isabelle Hemsley, reflect the great importance of this "lighthouse project". The city council of Hanau unanimously decided, and the agreement with GHC already complements the signatures under a previous contract with the company Heraeus. "We set the foundation for the new business card of our city," says Kaminsky.
urban agreement with far-reaching consequences
But the project also contains challenges! Jonathan Holz expresses the commitment to the Hanau location, but announces adapting measures on the existing systems to increase security. Permanent decommissioning and adjustments are planned by 2030. These gradual measures, starting in 2025, should meet the high requirements of the new urban development.
The total expenditure amounts to around 14 million euros for planning and approval procedures, with compensation payments provided by 2028. With this agreement, a balance between the construction of urgently needed apartments and the interests of GHC is made. "The new district is not a dream, but a tangible goal," emphasizes Kaminsky. Clear words and clear deeds that will write history in Hanau!
