Clinic closure: worries about medical care in the district!

In the Uhlen pharmacy in Lemke there is a transition: long-time operator Anne Kantner retires after 46 years at the end of this year. However, there is no need to worry for customers, since Yousra Ben Mohamed will take over the pharmacy from January 1. This pharmacy is handed over smoothly and continues to provide patients with medicinal products, such as closures in protest

But there are changes in pharmacy not only in Lemke. In Hesse there will be a great protest from pharmacies on June 27th and 28th, which will remain closed for two days. This closure is a direct reaction to the draft of the pharmacy reform submitted by Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, which many are regarded by many as a threat to the nationwide supply of drugs. Association leader Holger Seyfarth describes the draft as a “general attack” on pharmacy competence and the supply close to home. The pharmacists demand that their concerns are taken seriously and also plans a large demonstration in Frankfurt am Main in order to make their displeasure clear. During this time, the supply by pharmacies is only maintained by emergency service pharmacies, such as Pharmacy adhoc explained.

The closure and the protest are a clear appeal to the government to rethink the planned reform, since the changes could not only have far -reaching consequences for the pharmacists, but also for the patients. The pharmacies in Hesse warn of possible restrictions that could endanger drug safety, and require legislators to search for the dialogue and receive the existing care structure.
