A spectacular incident shook the A7 on Friday, November 15, 2024: A tractor -trailer that was loaded with sweets, went up in flames and ensured a traffic chaos!

around 2:45 p.m., between the Hattenbacher and the Kirchheimer Dreieck towards Kassel, the huge truck from the district of Harz in Saxony-Anhalt fully burned under unexplained circumstances. The driver, a courageous 41-year-old Ukrainian, managed to control the truck on the hard shoulder in good time and get to safety. But the fire spread rapidly and grasped the entire trailer in which delicious sweets were transported. The entire team burned down completely - a shocking sight!

The dramatic situation led to a backlog of over 20 kilometers on the A7 and A5. Drivers had to prove patience, because the A7 remained completely closed for several hours, while the fire brigade immediately carried out extinguishing and operational measures from Kirchheim, Niederaula, Kleba and Hattenbach. Fortunately, everyone involved was unharmed, but the property damage is estimated on terrifying 200,000 euros.
