During the opening of the exhibition, a banner from the Indonesian artist collective "Taring Padi" was left behind, which contained anti -Semitic motifs. As a result, the general director of Kunstschau, Sabine Schormann, had to vacate her post, and in November 2023 the entire finding commission for the upcoming Documenta 16 resigned in 2027.
