Police and elementary school students in action: Lightning campaign for traffic safety!

Rotenburg. Big excitement in LiSpenhausen! On Monday (October 28th) the Schulstraße turned into a Viraal camp of traffic safety when the regional traffic service of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg police, together with the traffic watch, launched an innovative project: "School begins-Blitz for Kids". The special? The students themselves became traffic police officers! With a lot of vigor and a wide grin they went hunting for lawn and good role models.

The kids as traffic guards

Under the motto of raising awareness of dangers in road traffic, the children conveyed in a playful way how important consideration is. While they distributed lemons to traffic offenders, the pupils went hunting for role models among drivers with roses. A perfect mix of fun and serious learning!

The numbers speak volumes!

The police stopped a total of 57 vehicles and it was hotly debated! Of these, every fifth driver crossed the speed limit of 30 km/h. They got a yellow card and the sharp lemon as a humorous reminder - a message that remains in the memory! But not all of them were racers: 25 drivers were rewarded for their exemplary driving style with green cards and a fresh bouquet of flowers. A real award for consideration!

No rest in sight! The Osthessen police have undertaken to continue the "Blitz for Kids" campaign, and will continue to include the wide-awakening students as an important partner in traffic education. An effective concept that conveys traffic safety up close and makes the youngest into ambassadors of consideration!
