Lightning for children: Students make traffic offenders with lemons and roses as a duty!

In an exciting project, the small traffic guards of the school on Schulstraße in LiSpenhausen actively participated in a speed measurement on Monday (October 28th)! Under the slogan "School begins-Blitz for Kids", the students worked together with the Hersfeld-Rotenburg police and the Hersfeld-Rotenburg traffic watchdog to make road traffic safer. With an interesting approach, not only racers were held accountable, but also responsible drivers were rewarded with flower gifts!

The main goal of this unique measure was to sharpen the awareness of security in road traffic, especially near schools. The children got a lot of joy by measuring those drivers who exceeded the speed limit of 30 km/h, with yellow cards and symbolic lemons. Of a total of 57 controlled vehicles, 31 were stopped - a systematic action that served to creatively influence the behavior in road traffic!

But not only the speeders did not get away with impunity. 25 drivers were rewarded for their exemplary driving style with a green card and fragrant roses! This warm gesture should underline the positive influence of great careful care and mindfulness in traffic. The Osthessen police are planning to participate in the "Blitz for Kids" campaign in the future and to clarify the next generation of road users about the importance of security.

Overall, it was an unforgettable day for the students who not only acted as an ambassador for traffic safety, but also actively contributed to making the streets in their area safer. The cooperation between the police, traffic watch and the students shows how important it is to raise awareness of the dangers in road traffic at an early stage.
