Construction work from Monday: Weiterstadt improves road drainage!
From October 14, 2023, an important construction measure will be carried out in Weiterstadt, which focuses on improving road drainage on the L 3094 state road. Hessen Mobil has taken the initiative to optimize the situation on the underpass that runs under the railway tracks.
The trough structure, known as an underpass, has been known for its problem with water accumulation since its establishment in 1997. The existing dirt traps are too flat in their construction, which leads to repeated constipation and the water below, especially after heavy rainfall. This measure aims to sustainably increase the capacities of the road processes.
Details on the construction measure
The construction work is expected to continue by the end of October 2023 and can take place under a half -side blocking of the street. A construction site traffic light is set up for the traffic routing to maintain the flow of traffic as much as possible.
An essential part of the project is the installation of two additional street inlets. These are installed both in front of and behind the already existing road inlet, which is located at the low of the underpass. This aims to significantly increase the efficiency of the dirt catches and processes.
The total cost of this construction work amounts to around 49,500 euros, which are completely covered by the state of Hesse. Improving road drainage is a significant step to ensure safety and comfort for all road users.
The continuously persistent water gesture in the underpass represents a risk of traffic safety. These measures not only improve direct traffic management, but also to optimize the functionality of the infrastructure in the long term so that future problems are avoided.
Further information on this construction work is available from Hessen Mobil, where updates about the progress of the work are constantly being published. More details can be found in a detailed report on mobil.hessen.de .
